On-Line Lessons

Are you interested in taking lessons via the Internet?

Ward MacDonald and Peter Menzies have been testing on-line lessons
using MSN Messenger, Skype and Audacity sound recording software.
The software is free and all you need is a typical headset.

 

Here's how it works ...

Ward and Peter's lesson lasts about 30 minutes.
Peter plays a tune while Ward records it on Audacity.
Ward plays back the recording and makes suggestions.
Peter plays the tune until he gets it right!
Finally, Ward e-mails an MP3 copy of the recording to Peter.
Peter then promises to use the MP3 file
every time he practices the tune.
 

Sound Complicated?

Peter and Ward will be demonstrating
the on-line lessons at this year's school.
By the way ... Ward lives 5000 kilometres away from Peter.
