Programming Schedule

The camp is designed for both Dawson residents and those from away
who want to learn music and see Dawson at the same time.
Day Sessions
Fiddle with
Ward Macdonald

Fiddle lessons are group lessons that last 80 minutes. Participants are grouped by ability and the number of lessons each individual wants to take.

Group A: Beginner/New ~ 1- 3 years experience
9:00 am -10:20 am Monday - Friday
Group B:
Beginner/New ~ 1- 3 years experience
10:30 am -Noon
Monday - Friday
Group C: Intermediate/Advanced ~ Several years
1:00 pm - 2:20 pm
Monday - Friday

Robert Service School Music Room

$125 for five sessions
$200 for ten sessions

Guitar & Piano Accompaniment with
Jeff Matheson

Fiddle players need accompaniment players and Jeff is one of the best! Jeff will be working with one guitar group and one piano group, both of which are limited to six people.

Guitar Group D- New learners and Beginners 9:00 am -10:20 am Monday - Friday
Guitar Group E- Intermediate/Advanced 10:30 am - Noon Monday - Friday
Piano Gruop F-- all levels 1:00 pm - 2:20 pm

SOVA Fine Arts Buidling (3rd and Queen)

$125 for five sessions
$200 for ten session

Songwriting with
Steve Slade

Fiddle School students will have a chance to work with Steve in five sessions over five days.

Songwriting Group G - 3:30 pm - 4:45 pm

Location: TBA

$125 for five sessions

Klondyke Fiddle School and the two community Daycares are partnering on a songwriting project. Steve will work with children enrolled in the summer day camps. Steve is sponsored by the Dawson City Recreation Board and Dawson's two daycares.

Beginner Violin with Dean Tower

Klondyke Fiddle School helps new learners start their violin learning journey. Dean specializes in teaching new learners. Dean's students are supplied with a violin and lessons.

Violin New Learner Group H- 3:30 pm - 4:50 pm Monday to Friday
Robert Service School Music Room

$125 for five sessions

Dean will also be working directly in the summer day camps. Dean is sponsored by the Dawson City Recreation Board and Dawson's two daycares.

Private Lessons All instructors are available for a limited number of private lessons
$40 per half hour.Please enquire.

Feature Concert

Yes, a computer can help you learn music!
Instructors will demonstrate the software
and computer tools used to advance
the learning process.

Students can also pre-register for on-line fiddle lessons with Ward MacDonald. Ward and Peter have been testing the effectiveness of live on-line lessons via the Internet and are eager to share their results.
